latest Apple Macs are powered by Intel CPU, or its more widely known as being Intel Inside, which means, a couple of years back, a project by Apple called Project Marklar (supposingly a secret project researching/experimenting/testing/ a version of Mac OS X on Intel x86 architecture) was indeed REAL.the news is now worldwide and of course some likes the idea and some don't. for some techies (which that includes me) start having the idea of "running Mac OS X using my current hardware" which is not released by APPLE of course. most reason will be related to $$$$, since Apple's hardware are not to run the OS on standard x86 hardware, we just need to make sure 1 thing; our current CPU must be using the SSE2 or SSE3 instruction set. from what i've checked, latest CPU offerings (both from Intel and AMD) supports both of these instructions. i have been watching the progress of booting Mac OS X on non-Apple hardware (and vice versa) closely, especially the coexistance of Mac OS X+Windows XP ( a dream come true, i'm sure..) and later on i add another thing to my thought: "why not coexist Mac OS X+Windows XP+Linux altogether?" that will be a 'dream come true! that was just a dream a couple of years back! i found the link to the guide at toxicle's blog (thanx man!). its triple boot using GRUB (darn, i never like using | |
